「Niseko Snowshoeing」
The town of Niseko in Hokkaido is a heavy snowfall area, with snow accumulating as high as 3 meters. In midwinter, snow clouds associated with the cold weather bring silky powder snow to the area as it crosses the Niseko mountain range. This is the best “powder snow” you can get anywhere! Why don’t you experience such powder snow in Niseko? Only in Niseko can you enjoy snowshoeing in a vast landscape where fresh snow is piled up every day! All you need is warm clothes! All you need to bring is warm clothes!
*Please bring a minimum of warm clothing such as snow wear top and bottom, gloves, and a knit hat.

【Snowshoeing】TSL snowshoes with Boa system for easy on/off! If you think that snowshoes are hard to put on and take off, or that it is troublesome to take off gloves, we highly recommend these snowshoes! Available for foot sizes from children to adults (20cm to 30cm).
*Some shoes for juniors and kids do not have the Boa system.

【Japanese KANJIKI walking】If you would like to experience the traditional folk tool “Kanjiki” used by our ancestors in heavy snowfall areas, click here. These precious tools are handmade one by one by craftsmen. Compared to snowshoes, kanjiki are light and easy to use. They are most effective in the snowfields around February, when the snow is a little lighter than in fresh snow!

【立山かんじき】
独特の手法により他県に無い爪を組み込み、横滑りを止めるもので、どんな冬山の斜面や深雪、硬い雪など、いかなるところでも容易に雪上走行が出来ます。〈丈夫で、履きやすく、美しい〉という特徴を守り通し、独特の粘りを持ち耐久性があります。材料は立山山麓周辺標高400㍍から1,000㍍に自生するクロモジ、ネソ（マンサク）、ヂシャ（アブラチャン）を使用します。採集時期は年二回、11月から12月初旬、3月雪解けから芽吹く5月連休くらいまで、作り手自らが吟味採集します。～立山かんじき工房HPより～
【渋谷式かんじき】
渋谷吉尾氏が、一足一足心をこめて手作りしたかんじき。北海道黒松内町の冬のブナ林散策に欠かせないアイテムです。北海道の開拓時代に苦労をともにした生活道具で、自らその精神を後世に伝えるため試行錯誤を重ね完成しました。直径10～15㎝のヤマグワを使って前輪の先端部をそり上げる製法。つま先が雪に刺さらないので歩きやすく丈夫です。

時間：① 10：00～ ②14：00～（各2h程度）
体験：1.5h～2h（レクチャー・休憩時間含む）
料金：3,300円/1人 ※別途スノーシューレンタル料1,000円(2hまで)

集合：JRニセコ駅（集合場所は変更になる場合があります）

準備：スキーウェアなどナイロン系の防寒具上下着用の上、お越しください。

【Niseko powder snow】Snowshoe experience in winter
Would you like to walk through the powder snow fields in the Niseko area with snowshoes?
Those experiencing snow for the first time are welcome.

Time: ① 10:00~ ② 14:00~
Experience: 1.5h to 2h (including lecture and break time)
Price: 3,300 yen/person *Separate snowshoe rental fee 1,100 yen (up to 2 hours)
Contents: Snowy field snowshoeing experience *Not a guided walk, etc., but a snowy field snowshoeing experience
Meeting: JR Niseko Station (meeting location is subject to change)
Preparation: Please come wearing nylon cold weather clothing (top and bottom) such as ski wear.
Other: To prevent snow from getting into your shoes, please bring boots, spats, a knit hat, and gloves. *If you don’t have one, you can rent one here.
